Our classes encompass a range of pottery-making and decorating techniques. Due to their popularity, our class spaces fill up rapidly. If you're unable to secure a spot, don't worry; simply add your name to our waiting list, and we'll notify you as soon as places become available.

Six Week - General Pottery Techniques

Learn how to make pottery using various techniques and explore ways to decorate your creations.

After the six week beginners course you will be invited to stay on to create your own projects.

Making Fat Animals

A two hour private session with Penny to make one of the following animals. Please select what you would like to make when booking. 


One Session Introduction Classes

Throughout the year we offer informal one off classes where you can have a go at a pottery technique and decide if this hobby is one you would like to take up.

These sessions are on Sunday afternoon between 1 and 5:30pm

Cost £50

 

Please note these classes concentrate on making pottery without a wheel, if you would like to have a go at using the potters wheel please book our throwing class

(Costs include all materials and firing. Finished pieces are generally ready to collect after 4 weeks)


Introduction to pottery     (Handbuilding taster session)


Do you have a particular pottery project in mind, or are you simply looking to dip your toes into the world of pottery before committing to a full six-week course?

 

Join Emma or Penny for a two-hour session that will introduce you to the fundamental principles of hand-building pottery.

 

We provide specialized sessions where you can craft iconic Highland cows, sculpt lifelike animals, or opt for a more versatile experience, creating items like mugs or vases of your choice

 

Cost £40 per person.

Hand-building and decorating Mugs, bowls and plates

 

Join us for an afternoon dedicated to crafting functional pottery, including plates, mugs, and bowls using traditional hand-building techniques. During the session, you'll have the opportunity to decorate your pieces using slip. Following an initial firing, we'll finish the process with glazing, resulting in your completed and usable pottery being ready to use in approximately four weeks.

Throwing for beginners

(Using the potters wheel)


Experience the joy of the potter's wheel in our exciting two-hour sessions, perfect for up to two people.

 

Join us on Thursdays from 2-4 pm or Sundays from 2-4 pm for just £60 per person.

 

During the session, you'll have the privilege of selecting three of your own creations, which you can decorate. We'll take care of the firing process, and you can expect to collect your finished pieces approximately four weeks later.

Before joining us, kindly ensure your fingernails are trimmed, as it greatly affects your experience with the wheel.

Should you wish to keep additional pieces, they can be retained for just £5 each.
