Adult Classes


Our classes encompass a range of pottery-making and decorating techniques. Come along to one of our one off classes and have a go whilst meeting the team.

 

Alternatively add your name to our waiting list at the bottom and we let you know when spaces are available on our longer classes.

One Session Introduction Classes

An opportunity to have a go at pottery without the commitment of a six week class. During the sessions everything you need is provided and included in the price. At the end of the session we fire and glaze (where appropriate) your pieces and they are ready to collect after about 4 weeks. (time may vary depending on the size of the piece.)

All prices are per person unless otherwise stated.


Sunday Specials

About once a month we offer a longer class on a Sunday afternoon for new or experienced potters to try out pottery or a pottery experience. These three and a half hour sessions are a great way to get your hands dirty and meet new people.

Decorating mugs using slip and the sgraffito method

12th January 2025

Cost £50

Spend an afternoon with us decorating pre made mugs by carving patterns in them with coloured clay. One mug included extra mugs £15 each.

 



Using the potters wheel

Experience the joy of pottery in our 2-hour beginner wheel lessons. Whether you're with a partner or a small group (2-4 people), you'll learn the basics of wheel throwing in a supportive, hands-on environment. Create and decorate your own pottery pieces while having fun and discovering your artistic side!

Don't forget to cut your nails and wear clothes that can get dirty!

Throwing experience

Experience using the potters wheel to create stoneware pottery perfect for up to two people.

 

 

 

Making Mugs NEW

Dates: Various

Cost £70 (per person)

Duration 2 hours

Maximum 2 people

 

Come and make two mugs (each) using the potters wheel. You will be guided through the process of making your mugs on the wheel then introduced to making and fitting handles. A great way to learn about the mug making process. 

 

Small Group session 

Dates: Various

Cost: £160

Duration: 2 hours

Maximum 4 people 

 

Up to four people can share using our two wheels to make three items each. When not on the wheel you will have the opportunity to decorate your pottery using coloured clay

 

 



Hand building Classes

Pottery is not just about the wheel! Come and have the experience of handling clay to make a huge range of utility and decorative pottery with our experienced potters.

 


Animals

We offer classes to make a range of different animals and birds, however if you cant see what you like give us a shout we will tackle anything from an aardvark to a zebra.

Classes start at £40 per person for two hours making memories as well as pottery.

Sgraffito mugs

Date: 12th January 2025

Time: 1:30pm

Cost £50

Using the sgraffito pottery technique of carving through layers of coloured clay you will spend the afternoon decorating a premade mug. Extra mugs can be purchased on the day for an £15 each. These will then be fired and glazed ready to collect after about 4 weeks.

Do you have a particular pottery project in mind, or are you simply looking to dip your toes into the world of pottery before committing to a full six-week course?

 

Join Emma or Penny for a two-hour session that will introduce you to the fundamental principles of hand-building pottery.

 

We provide tailored sessions where you can sculpt a pet or opt for a more versatile experience, creating items like mugs or vases of your choice

Six Week - Beginners Class

Immerse yourself in the art of pottery with our comprehensive six-week course. You'll be introduced to a variety of techniques, including coil and slab building, as well as using the potter's wheel. Additionally, you'll explore creative methods for decorating your pieces.

After completing the beginner's course, you can advance to future classes, where you'll work on your own projects and deepen your understanding of pottery and ceramics.

Beyond learning a new hobby, these classes offer a wonderful opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals over a cup of tea (or coffee/hot chocolate) and some clay.
