Adult Classes

Our classes cover techniques for making and decorating pottery as well as understanding the fundamentals of pottery and the potter's skills.

We have classes from a private one hour taster session on the wheel through to a six week course with other beginners on multiple making and decorating techniques and special short courses .

Beginners Courses Starting February 2022

Once someone has completed their initial six week beginners course they are able to carry on with their own projects this means that spaces on our courses are limited and often snapped up quickly.

Throwing Classes for Beginners and Improvers

These classes are suitable for complete beginners or students looking to improve their throwing skills. You will learn the basic techniques of wedging, centring and throwing the clay as well as trimming to create a range of forms.

Each week we will look at making different pieces as well as setting a fun "throwdown" challenge. Be warned we will be working you hard!

The focus of these sessions is to concentrate on improving your skills rather than making lots of pots to keep but if you fall in love with your creations you can keep up to two a week and clear glaze them.
